CheMagic Demonstration Video: Oscillating Reaction
Oscillating Reaction: The OSCILLATING CLOCK REACTION is a variation of the iodine clock in which the solution cycles between two colors (black and amber). The chemistry is rather complex, but the value in this demonstration is pure entertainment. The version here is by Briggs and Rauscher who, interestingly, were high school science teachers. They modified the original version by Belousov and Zhabotinsky to develop a more visual demonstration.
