CheMagic Demonstration Video: Oscillating Reaction
Oscillating Reaction: The OSCILLATING CLOCK REACTION is a variation of the iodine clock in which the solution cycles between two colors (black and amber). The chemistry is rather complex, but the value of this chemical demonstration is pure entertainment. It is a very popular chem demo in our outreach presentation. This chemical demonstration video shows a version by Briggs and Rauscher who, interestingly, were high school science teachers. They modified the original version by Belousov and Zhabotinsky to develop a more visual demonstration.
